Media Smarts

April 2, 2013 — Media Smarts, formerly known as the Media Awareness Network, is a not-for-profit charitable organization. It has been developing digital and media literacy programs and resources for educators, parents and communities to help children develop the critical thinking skills they need for interacting with the various media including Internet, TV, movies, advertisements, and music.

Resources can be searched based on grade (K-12), province, and/or subject, and topics include cyber bullying, body image, cell phones, alcohol marketing and cyber security.  Resources include lesson plans with worksheets, games, tip sheets, tutorials, and backgrounders on the topics.
