Who We Are, What We Do
The Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation is a certified trade union representing over 60,000 education workers across the province.
Our diverse English and French membership is represented in 151 bargaining units across the province. We work in elementary and secondary school workplaces, private schools and consortia that offer support services to school boards and universities. Our members include educational assistants, continuing education teachers and instructors, psychologists, secretaries, speech-language pathologists, social workers, plant support personnel, attendance counsellors and many other education professionals.
Students, parents, teachers and education workers all want a strong public education system. We work directly with our members to enhance the students’ experience every day. We also work with parents, school boards, governments and other stakeholders to safeguard the quality of our public education system and improve it in every way possible.
We only represent people in the field of education. No other representative organization has as much history, diversity, expertise, respect and or influence in the field of public education in Ontario.
