OSSTF/FEESO has a longstanding commitment to equity, anti-racism and anti-oppression as outlined in our OSSTF/FEESO Equity Statement. The Federation has developed a structure for equity, anti-racism and anti-oppression supported by a provincial Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Coordinator, four Equity Officers, the provincial In-House Equity Team, an Equity Advisory Work Group and the In–House Equity Work Group.
There are a number of committees and work groups made up of members that assist the Federation in its work on reducing barriers to member participation and fostering equity, anti-racism and anti-oppression within OSSTF/FEESO.
The Equity Officers, members of provincial office staff, provide advice and assistance to members regarding equity issues including equity-based barriers to participation within the Federation. There is an Equity Officer from each of the four departments in Provincial Office.
The Provincial In-House Equity Team is made up of provincial office staff, including the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Coordinator and the four Equity Officers, who promote equity, anti-racism and anti-oppression within the Federation.
The Equity Advisory Work Group is an advisory body to the Provincial Executive on matters related to inclusion and equity within the Federation and any other matters that may be referred to it by the Provincial Executive.
The In–House Equity Work Group is an internal advisory body that examines issues of equity, diversity, inclusion and accessibility within Provincial Office.
